LINE-BY-LINE APPROVAL

Surgical negotiation.

Your client doesn't have to reject the whole quote because one line item doesn't work for them. From the link, they approve only the lines they accept, leave a comment on the one they want to discuss or propose a different total. You reply in the same thread and, if needed, send a new version.

  • Partial approval: your client picks which lines they accept
  • General and per-line comments, in both directions
  • Counteroffer with a total amount and a message

VERSION HISTORY

A history that doesn't lie.

When you modify a quote you already sent, Cord saves the new one as V2, V3… without overwriting the previous one, each with its own lines and amounts. And if you change it while your client has it open, the link won't let them approve the old version: it asks them to review the changes.

  • V1, V2, V3… with their date and total on the quote page
  • Each version with its lines and amounts, never overwriting the last
  • Your client always approves the current version

APPROVAL SEAL

Who approved, what and when.

To approve, your client types their name and Cord computes a SHA-256 hash of what they accepted: the lines, their name and the IP they signed from. The seal is stored with the date and shows up in the link's audit block, so if someone says "I approved something else", you have the exact record.

  • Signer's name, IP and approval date
  • SHA-256 hash of the accepted lines
  • Visible on the link, in the audit block

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Negotiation: the questions we hear most.

Yes. When you modify and resend a quote, Cord creates a new version (V2, V3…) instead of overwriting the previous one, and each keeps its own lines and amounts. On the quote page, the version history lists each one with its date and total. Your client's link always shows the current version.

It is a fingerprint of what your client approved. When they confirm, Cord computes a SHA-256 hash of the accepted lines, the name they typed and the IP they signed from, and stores it with the date. It is evidence of what was approved, by whom and when; it is not an advanced electronic signature or a notarized certification.

No. They open the link you sent them, with no account and no code to enter, and from there they approve the whole quote or just some lines, comment, propose a different amount or reject it.
