Payment methods
Card, SPEI, manual transfers and confirmation states.
This guide includes the September improvements. Their combined publication and integrated acceptance still need verification. See scope and availability.
Choose how to pay
The quote link offers methods enabled by the business. Card and automatic bank transfer require an enabled payment account. The public invoice page has its own card flow; do not assume it offers every quote payment method.
Card
The customer reviews the amount and completes the payment fields. Their bank may request additional verification. The payment is reflected when confirmation arrives; closing the payment screen or returning to the link is not proof of payment.
SPEI
Automatic SPEI is available for MXN payments for eligible businesses in Mexico. Instructions show the CLABE, bank, reference and remaining amount. Use the current instructions for that payment, not a saved screenshot from another document.
Each payment keeps a bank-customer reference to identify its funds. Reconciliation depends on confirmation; it is not guaranteed to be instant. If you already sent a transfer, check its status before trying a card. Do not assume a previous CLABE is unusable merely because you changed screens or methods. Contact the seller if you sent money to previous instructions.
Manual bank transfer
When a business offers its own bank details, the seller verifies receipt and records the payment in Cord. An uploaded receipt does not replace that verification. Refunding a manual transfer is handled with the business.
Switching between SPEI and card
The protection improvement for switching methods is under validation before publication. It verifies the previous attempt, blocks replacement when money has been received or is in progress, and preserves the attempt across concurrent retries. It aims to reduce duplicate charges caused by switching or lost responses.
While a payment is unresolved, do not repeat the transfer or open another method just to try it. Refresh the link or contact the business. The improvement does not include automatic refunds of late transfers or automatic recovery of every uncertain attempt.
See the scope of the changes and method-specific fees. Sale currency is separate from your Cord subscription currency.
One payment flow: implementation prepared
Integrations that still request the previous checkout will receive a link to
Cord’s current payment screen. They will use the same payment-attempt registry
and payable balance instead of creating an independent hosted payment session.
The API response retains its url field and accepted rates remain unchanged.
Before activation, existing open or pending sessions are reviewed. They are not automatically canceled or refunded. The current audit found no sessions in the connected accounts checked; it must be repeated at release time. Deployment and integrated acceptance remain pending.
