Create a quote: Overview

The heart of Cord. Learn how to transform a tedious sales process into an interactive digital experience, from proposal to payment.

Cord is the deal-closing platform that takes a sale from proposal to payment, all in one link: negotiated pricing, credit terms, online payment, and, in Mexico, integrated CFDI 4.0 invoicing. The quoting engine is the same across the 12 countries where Cord operates (Mexico, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, and Peru); what changes between countries is the fiscal document that closes the cycle — see the approval and invoicing section below.

The new commercial standard

Building a commercial proposal with spreadsheets, static PDFs, and email threads to negotiate prices is slow and error-prone: outdated prices, different versions circulating at once, and no trail of what was actually agreed. Cord replaces that workflow with a high-speed internal quoter (for your sales team) connected to an interactive web link (for your client), which ends in payment and, where it applies, the corresponding fiscal document.

The workflow in Cord

To create and close a quote, the process is divided into 5 main stages:

  1. Client data: Select or create your client’s commercial and fiscal profile.
  2. Products and discounts: Build the proposal by adding catalog products, setting quantities, and applying discounts.
  3. Advanced options: Configure the validity period, currency, payment terms (upfront or credit), and commercial or legal notes.
  4. Preview and sending: Review how the quote will look and share it via a Magic Link.
  5. Approval and invoicing: When the client approves digitally, Cord enables payment and issues the fiscal document that corresponds to your country.

If you’d rather not build the proposal by hand, Cord AI can generate a complete draft from text, a PDF, or an image — you always review the draft before sending it.

Note: If you have multiple legal entities configured in your account, remember to select the correct issuing entity before you start quoting.

Frequently asked questions

Does Cord work for businesses outside Mexico? Yes. Cord offers signup in 12 countries. Quotes and invoices can use Cord’s offered currencies (MXN, USD, CAD, BRL, EUR, GBP, COP, ARS, CLP, and PEN, plus JPY, CNY, CHF, and AUD for international trade). Each organization configures its applicable rates; Cord provides editable presets where a market has a stable national rate. Online payments are currently available in Mexico, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France; in Colombia, Argentina, Chile, and Peru you can quote, invoice, track collections, and record payments received outside Cord.

Does CFDI 4.0 stamping work in every country? No. SAT stamping is exclusive to Mexico. In Spain, Cord issues a commercial invoice and only creates a chained Verifactu record when the company’s certificate and regulatory rail are active. In other markets, Cord issues a commercial invoice without automatically filing it with the local tax authority.

Do I need technical knowledge to use Cord? No. Cord is designed for sales teams. It doesn’t require any technical integration to get started: create your account, upload your catalog, and send your first quote.
