Microsoft Teams
Your team sees in its Teams channel when a client opens, approves or pays.
What it does
Cord posts a card to the Teams channel you choose when a quote moves forward, when a quote requests internal approval and when one of your workflows says so. There are two ways to connect it, and only one can be active at a time:
| Connect with Microsoft | Power Automate flow | |
|---|---|---|
| How | Sign in with your work account and pick team and channel from the lists. | Create a flow in the channel and paste its URL. |
| Who posts | The card is posted as whoever connected; Cord’s card says so (“Alerts are posted as…”). | The channel’s flow. |
| Requirement | A Microsoft 365 work or school account (channels do not exist in personal accounts). | Being able to create flows in the channel. |
| Status | New feature | Available |
Requirements
| Where | What you need |
|---|---|
| Cord | The Settings permission. Any plan. |
| Microsoft 365 | A work or school account with Teams. Personal Microsoft accounts have no channels. |
| Teams | With Connect with Microsoft, being a member of the team and channel to post to. With Power Automate, being able to create flows in that channel. |
| Your Microsoft organization | If it does not let each person authorize apps on their own, a Microsoft 365 administrator will need to approve the Cord app. |
Connect with Microsoft
This feature is new and may not be enabled on your account yet. If you do not see it, write to us.
- Go to Settings › Integrations › Microsoft Teams.
- Click Connect with Microsoft and sign in with your work account.
- Pick the team and channel from the lists and click Use this channel.
- Click Send test: a sample card appears in the channel.
Cord asks to read your profile, the teams and channels you belong to, and to send channel messages. It does not ask to read the channel’s messages. Microsoft may show a notice that the app’s publisher is unverified while Microsoft finishes that verification.
With a Power Automate flow
Teams’ old connectors (Office 365 “Incoming Webhook”) are retired; the URL comes from a flow.
- In the channel, open Workflows from the three-dot menu.
- Use the template “Post to a channel when a webhook request is received” and pick team and channel.
- Copy the flow URL (it starts with
https://prod-and ends inlogic.azure.com). - In Cord, open Use a Power Automate flow on the Teams card, paste the URL, click Save and then Send test.
The URL is a credential: anyone who has it can post to your channel. If it leaks, delete the flow and create another.
What flows and in which direction
Teams is an outbound integration: Cord posts to your channel and reads nothing from Teams.
| Direction | What flows | When |
|---|---|---|
| From Cord to Teams | One card per alert you check in Notifications: quote number, client, total with its currency and a link to the quote. | When the event happens. |
| From Cord to Teams | The card of an internal approval request, with the Decide in Cord button. | When the approval is requested. |
| From Cord to Teams | The text you write in a workflow’s Send a Teams message action. | When the workflow runs. |
| From Teams to Cord | Nothing. Replying in the channel or reacting to the card changes nothing in Cord. | — |
Turn on alerts
Connecting turns on no alerts. In Settings › Notifications, check the Teams column for the events you want:
| Event | When it fires |
|---|---|
| Your client viewed the quote | When the client opens the public link. |
| Quote approved | The client accepted the proposal. |
| Quote rejected | The client rejected it. |
| Payment received | An online payment was recorded. |
| Quote expiring | 3 days before the valid-until date. |
| Payment overdue | A receivable passed its due date. |
Email, Slack and Teams are checked separately: you can have one event in Teams and another only by email.
Teams in a workflow
The Send a Teams message action in Cord Workflows posts your own text with event data ({{cliente}}, {{folio}}, {{total}}), even if alerts are off. Use it to post only in some cases (a large sale, a deposit, a dispute) or with your own text. With Teams connected (and Slack not), the ready-made ideas alert the team through Teams instead of by email.
Approval requests
When a quote requests internal approval, Cord posts a card in the connected channel with the quote number, client, total and a Decide in Cord button. The decision is made in Cord: the Teams card has no buttons to approve or reject. Internal approvals require the Scale plan or higher.
Limits
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Destinations per organization | One channel at a time. Picking a channel with Microsoft clears the flow URL, and saving a flow disconnects the Microsoft account. |
| Messages from workflows | 120 per hour per organization |
| Length of a workflow message | 1,000 characters |
| Tests from Settings | 10 per minute |
| Posted as | With Connect with Microsoft, always the person who connected. If they leave the company or lose access to the channel, someone else must reconnect. |
If you want alerts in several channels, one option is to use Make or Zapier with Cord’s events.
Disconnect
If you connected with Microsoft:
- In Settings › Integrations › Microsoft Teams, click Disconnect.
- Cord deletes its access to your account and stops posting.
- If you also want to remove the Cord app from your Microsoft account, do it at myapps.microsoft.com: Microsoft does not allow revoking a single access from outside.
If you use a Power Automate flow: open Use a Power Automate flow, clear the URL and click Save. To cut access completely, turn off or delete the flow in Teams.
Once disconnected, Teams alerts from Notifications stop and workflows with the Teams action fail with “Connect Microsoft Teams in Settings › Integrations to use this action.” until you connect again.
Common issues
| Message or symptom | What to do |
|---|---|
| “Microsoft no longer accepts the connection” | Access expired or was revoked. Click Reconnect. |
| “Your account is not a member of any team” | Your account is not in any Teams team, or it is a personal account. Sign in with your work account. |
| “That channel is no longer available in your account. Pick another one.” | The channel was deleted or you are no longer a member. Click Change channel. |
| Microsoft asks for an administrator’s approval | Your organization does not let each person authorize apps. Ask a Microsoft 365 administrator to approve it, or use a Power Automate flow. |
| “The Teams URL must be the one from the channel’s Power Automate flow” | You pasted another address; it must end in a logic.azure.com domain. |
| “Teams did not accept the card” | The flow was turned off or deleted, or the channel no longer exists. Turn it on in Teams Workflows, paste a new URL or pick another channel. |
| The test arrives but alerts do not | The events do not have Teams checked. Check Settings › Notifications. |
