Tasks and Follow-up

Sales don’t close themselves. Create reminders with due dates to follow up punctually with each prospect.

Don’t let your leads go cold

Timely follow-up is the difference between a closed sale and a lost one. Cord includes a lightweight Tasks and reminders system: an account-wide to-do list, always visible in the widget of the same name on your Dashboard.

Although it’s a small feature, it’s useful to ensure no deal slips through the cracks due to a lack of follow-up.

How to create a task

There are two paths, and both land in the same place:

  1. From any screen in the app: click the “Create” button in the top bar and select “Task”. A quick form opens over whatever you were viewing.
  2. From the Dashboard: in the “Tasks and reminders” widget, use the text field and date picker at the top of the list.

Either way, fill in:

  • Description: for example, “Call Luis to ask if he has reviewed the quote”.
  • Due date (optional): pick the day on the calendar.

Click Add (or Create, depending on where you opened it from), and the task appears immediately in your Dashboard’s task widget, alongside the rest of your pending items.

A task belongs to your account, not to a specific quote. From the interface it is created as general follow-up for your operation. Tasks created by a workflow or the API can be linked to the quote that originated them.

Visual tracking

  • Pending tasks are listed sorted by due date, soonest first.
  • Once the due date has passed, the task gets a red “Overdue” tag so it stands out.
  • Check the box next to a task to mark it done — it disappears from the pending list. The × button deletes it entirely.

Pro tip: create a “Follow-up call” task right after sending the Magic Link, with a due date 48 hours after sending.
