Configure your account
Enter your company’s general data and manage your team’s permissions.
1. General company data
The first step is to register your company in Cord. Go to Settings > General to fill in the following information:
- Name: This is how your clients will see your company on quotes and public links.
- Currency: the currency you quote and charge your clients in (not your Cord subscription’s currency, which follows your country — see Your subscription).
- Contact email, phone, and address.
- Website and WhatsApp (shown on your public link).
- Country of operation: sets the regulatory rail Cord uses — which tax fields it asks for, which tax rates it seeds by default, and the invoicing vocabulary (see below).
- Time zone: used to calculate and display the dates on your quotes and invoices.
- Language: applies to the app, your public links, and the emails Cord sends on your behalf.
The tax details used for invoicing (Legal name, your tax ID, fiscal address) are captured separately, under Settings > Invoicing / Tax details. That form changes based on your country: in Mexico it asks for RFC and Tax Regime and enables the CSD for CFDI 4.0 (see Add tax information); outside Mexico it asks for your legal name, your local tax ID (NIF/CIF in Spain, EIN/Tax ID in the US…), address, and invoice prefix — Cord issues a numbered invoice with an immutable copy and a PDF. Cord does not automatically file it with the local tax authority. In Spain, Verifactu requires a valid certificate and an enabled Cord regulatory rail; see Fiscal invoicing by country.
2. Invite your sales team
The B2B sales process is collaborative. Cord lets you invite as many team members as your plan allows (you’ll see your seat usage and limit right on the screen). Go to Settings > Team and select Add member.
Roles and permissions
Every invite starts from a permission preset you can use as-is or customize field by field:
- Admin: full access to settings, billing, catalog, and exports.
- Sales rep: creates and sends quotes, but doesn’t manage account settings.
- Read-only: view-only access, for audits.
- Custom: toggle individual permissions (quoting, catalog, clients, collections, settings…) when none of the three presets fits.
From each member’s profile you can see their effective role, last session, recent
activity, edit their permissions, resend the invitation, revoke access, or re-invite
them if already revoked. If you restricted invitations to your company’s email domains
(Settings > Team), an invite to an address outside those domains is rejected before
it sends. A member who signs in through SSO has permissions managed by your identity
provider and isn’t edited here.
3. Quote defaults
If your business model operates under corporate B2B terms (where you don’t charge cash upfront, but on 30 or 60-day terms), you don’t have to configure it manually on every quote.
Go to Settings > Quotes to set the values every new quote starts with:
- Default validity (days).
- Default terms: Cash, Net 30, or Net 60. From now on, every new quote will automatically inherit this payment term (you can still change it per quote when quoting).
- Default advance (%).
- Numbering prefix, and the legal text that accompanies the PDF.
The credit limit is a signal, not an automatic block. Each client can have their own credit limit (Clients > [client]). Cord uses it to warn you — on the client’s profile and in Collections — how much open balance they carry against that limit, but it doesn’t by itself stop a new quote from being created; the call to pause selling to an over-exposed client is still yours.
